In the following chapter, you will read texts about the movie industry in Germany. We will start with a short text about a festival and then go to a longer one describing the state of the art of the German film, actual film producers, grants, prices etc.

(1) 45. Leipziger Festival für Dokumentar- und Animationsfilm

(2) Vom 15. bis 20.Oktober ist Leipzig wieder das internationale Mekka der Freunde des Dokumentar- und Animationsfilms. (3) 15 Filme werden im Wettbewerb Dokumentarfilm, 49 Filme im Wettbewerb Animationsfilm gezeigt. (4) Daneben gibt es eine Vielzahl von thematischen Reihen z.B. über Frauen im Film, Jüdische Identitätssuche in mittel- und osteuropäischen Dokumentarfilmen, eine Filmreihe aus Kurdistan, die Erinnerung an das erste Festival 1955 und "FIRST FLUSH - focus junger film". (5) Workshops und Foren runden das vielfältige Programm ab. (6) Im letzten Jahr kamen rund 19.000 Besucher zu den 370 Filmen.
