Basal Bodies and Ciliary Rootlets (c)

Longitudinal section across the basal area of the cilia on the nephrostome. 
Basal filaments and ciliary rootlets anchor the cilia. Striations are visible 
on the rootlets.  Septate desmosomes join the individual cells.
