These are electronic government docs.

Primary sources in government documents are original documents or data.  They can be the official publications of a sovereign nation. A few examples of primary materials include: text of documents, testimony, hearings,  diaries, personal narratives, autobiographies, biographies, letters, and interviews.

Where to Find Government Documents?

COAST Library Catalog provides location information for thousands of print government documents in the library and has links to many more thousands of online internet documents.

You can select your keywords such as "immigration and testimony",
"illegal aliens and statistics" or "immigration and documents"


There are a tremendous number of government documents to be found in Google.com

Here are some techniques to find them.

1. Enter single word, or to find phrases, enter topic in "quotes." That way the words will be found next to each other.

Examples:

"statistical reports" or "expert testimony" or "government report" or "statistical abstract" or documents or figures or rates.

2. Enter single word, or if phrases, enter topic "in quotes" that relate to immigration.

Examples:

"illegal immigrants" or "illegal immigration" or "border crossings" or  aliens or refugees or immigrants

3. Select the government domain of the 'net by entering SITE:GOV  This will limit your search to government sites.

Putting it all together, your google search might look like this.

The following two sites are REQUIRED resources for ASAM/CHLS 335I:

Census
US Census 2000 (This site contains enormous amounts of data regarding the U.S. population.

Immigration
US Citizenship & Immigration Services  (USCIS) Contains specific statistics and reports on immigration.
