  Primary sources are original documents or data.  A few examples of primary material in newspapers include the earliest accounts of a historical event, first hand accounts, interviews, letters, articles written by important people such as politicians, activists or protesters, and texts of speeches.

Lexis/Nexis Academic, 1975-2006 (Provides access to hundreds of U.S. and international newspapers)
