Project 4 Design for input matching network

Design a matching network to match 50 Ohm feedline to a load with the following input impedance. Use microstrip lines, parameters are given below.

Use smith chart for your initial design. Realize matching at 15GHz.

a)     Using Microstrip lines (specify what type of matching network you used and physical dimension of your line)

b)    Using lumped elements (specify which type of matching network you used and the components’ value)

Simulate your design in ADS. Include your design procedure into your report.

1. Substrate:

Dielectric constant (ε): 12

Tangent (δ): 0.001

Substrate thickness: 15 mil

Conductor thickness: 0.15 mil

Copper conductivity: 5.813e+7

 

2. Center Frequency

fc= 15GHz,

Width of line: 11.895 mil
