4	What is a Citation? Citation is the basic information needed to find the source or cite it. Indexes & research databases will always give you a citation. Journal citations include the following information: Author (s) of the article Title of the article Journal/Periodical Title Volume/Issue information Date (Year) Pages

6	Finding Citations Step 1: Keywords or search terms for topic Step 2: Select Database Step 3: Search the database Try different keywords, try different searches Select the best citations Look at more than one page of results!
7	How to combine terms Create search statements using Boolean operators AND narrows a search. Both variables must appear in same citation. Terms have different meanings. example: breast cancer AND prevention OR broadens a search. Either term may appear in citation. Terms have similar meanings. example: heart attacks or myocardial infarctions
