5	Boolean operators AND narrows a search. Both variables must appear in same citation. Terms have different meanings. example: health AND mexico OR broadens a search. Either term may appear in citation. Terms have similar meanings. example: health OR medical NOT eliminates terms.
6	Truncation symbols examples: , #, !, ?, + allows you to search for terms with multiple endings, including plurals e.g., prevent for prevent or prevention or preventing or prevented or prevents
7	Quotation Marks “ ” make words appear right next to each other or to search for phrases e.g. “medical care” NOTE: Not all databases use the same format for searching- so check the examples and help screens!!
