City of Long Beach DHHS Launches Pilot Project

The City of Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) launched a pilot project with electronic health records that aims to facilitate patient registration and improve providers' access to patients' health records. DHHS will work with health IT company Illumisys to implement the electronic system in its Preventive Health Clinic. The 3 month pilot will end in July, and DHHS then will analyze the system's impact and determine whether to implement the system in its other clinics.
