Interdisciplinary Studies


Purpose

The Technology-Based Learning
Master of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies addresses the role of technology in educational environments. It is designed to provide a learning foundation related to modern technology-based teaching and learning methodologies as used by educational psychologists, curriculum developers, school administrators, school counselors, and other educators.

The program provides information about the role of technology in accessing educational resources, for enhancing professional development activities, for developing and delivering instruction, and for evaluating the effectiveness of instruction.

In support of this focus, the program also includes courses that provide learning opportunities in the following areas:


Who Should Apply?

This interdisciplinary studies program is designed for individuals from a variety of academic backgrounds. The program will be of particular interest to students preparing for careers in educational areas that involve the use of instructional technology. Today, these include educational psychology, psychology, educational administration, special education, school counseling, curriculum development, and educational research. It provides foundation knowledge for students preparing for doctoral studies in these and other educational areas.
