image

As part of the Annual Geography Awareness Week, the Department of Geography in collaboration with Geography Student Association conducts its annual Photo Contest.  Its goals are to raise awareness of geography in the CSULB community, promote appreciation of the visual approach to landscape understanding and just to have fun.

Deadline: Mon Nov 7th, 2005
EXTENDED TILL tHUR nOV 10TH!

Participation     This competition will be judged by members of the department: students, staff, faculty and alumni,
but participation is open to all.
For this contest, any image other then submitted for our two previous contests may be entered.
Each contestant can submit up to four different photos altogether; they could be all for one category.
A single image or its close versions may not be entered in more than one category.  Each
contestant must be the sole author and owner of the copyright in all photos entered.
Images will be judged on their appeal to voters which is usually based on composition,
technique, content and originality.  The number of winners per category will be determined by the quantity and quality
of the images in each category.  A public exhibit of submitted images will be held during Geography Awareness Week.
Best images could be held on display in the department and on the web-site.
