Suitor and  wooer of Helen, Doctor in Trojan War, killed by Penthesileia.  Podaleirius 
and his brother Machaon led a force of warriors from Tricca, Ithome and Oechalia in 
the Trojan War. Tricca and Oechalia are both towns on the river Peneius, in Thessaly.
