CRIME LOG

Petty Theft
A wallet, keys and $18 were stolen on Aug. 1 from an unlocked locker at The Gold Mine.

Petty Theft
Three male suspects grabbed a cell phone from the owner on Aug. 3 as he walked through a room in the University Student Union. The suspects then ran from the area toward Friendship Walk.

Burglary
Two 2-foot Pall Python snakes were stolen from the Science Learning Center. The snakes were last seen on Aug. 3 at about 1:30 p.m. They were discovered missing at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 4. There was no sign of forced entry, University Police said. The snakes are valued at $150.

Auto Burglary
At parking Lot 13, a Chevy Astro Van was broken into Aug. 4. A cell phone, camera, a CD player and a total of 96 compact discs were stolen. The stolen property is valued at approximately $2,550.

Burglar arrested
An alleged burglar was arrested at the University Bookstore on Aug. 8 between 11:30 a.m. and noon for receiving refunds of books he never bought.

The suspect allegedly had been walking into the bookstore and picking up used books, University Police said. Using old receipts, the suspect would take certain textbook from the shelf, walk around the store, and then walk up to the cashier for a refund. The suspect was taken to Long Beach City Jail.
