Independence Day celebrations
Fireworks
Queen Mary will celebrate the Fourth of
July from July 1 to July 4 with fireworks each evening starting at 9 p.m.
A carnival will also be taking place at
varying hours.

A fireworks barge will be cruising the
coast of Long Beach, setting off large-scale fireworks visible from any
beach.
Parking is at a premium and open to residents
only in certain areas. Bicycles and foot traffic are allowed.

The Aquarium of the Pacific will host the
Phantoms and Fireworks Fourth of July celebrating the countries birthday
as well as the arrival of the jellies.
From the vantage point of the Aquarium
people can have a great view of the Queen Mary and the fireworks going
on there as well as enjoy a live band and a barbecue.

A Fourth of July parade and fireworks display
is scheduled to take place at Avalon Bay on Catalina Island.
Participants may also enjoy a barbecue
buffet dinner, music of the USC Marching Band and a golf cart parade down
Crescent Avenue.

Concerts
The Pacific Symphony Orchestra is scheduled
to perform the "Songs of Freedom" concert on Independence Day at Verizon
Wireless Amphitheater.
The grounds will open at 6 p.m. for patrons
who wish to bring a picnic. The concert and fireworks display follow at
8 p.m.

A Concert in the Park will be held July
4 at Whaley Park. Performances by the Long Beach Municipal Band will entertain
picnickers starting at 6:30 p.m. Whaley Park is located at 5620 Atherton
