Long Beach Police arrested a bank robbery suspect Tuesday morning on the 4600 block of Seventh Street and one suspect still remains at large.

Two armed men entered the Washington Mutual Bank on Second Street at about 10:30 a.m. and demanded money from the teller and customers, said David Marander, LBPD public information officer.

Marander said the suspects fled in a stolen, early-model gray Chevrolet Caprice, found abandoned on Third Street and Quincy Avenue shortly after the robbery.

One of the suspects attempted a carjacking on Seventh Street and Roycroft Avenue, but was unsuccessful. Police found the African-American man, who is believed to be between the ages of 25 to 35-years-old, hiding in the brush of a nearby motel.
