Dennis Miller, comedian, actor, talk-show host and author, has written a sequel to his bestseller, "The Rants," titled "Ranting Again."
This book, which hit shelves mid-June, is available in both hard-back and audio-cassette form, published by Doubleday.
As the title implies, "Ranting Again," is a series of tangents that Miller embarks upon - regarding social and political issues of the day.
Miller speaks freely in his book. Hiding not, behind the cloak of political consciousness, Miller shoots-straight with hilarious, candid, fascinating, albeit twisted, views of the world.
He rants and raves about everything including the American education and prison systems, white people, gun control and America's obsession with beauty.
The following is an excerpt from the book in which he "rants" about how screwed-up our prison system really is.
"Our prison system is as out-of-control as Billy Idol on ecstasy at the Hawaiian Tropic Finals. The day a convicted child murderer can give the finger to the family of the victim is the day our society and system of punishment [are] as worthless as the man who gave it. Premium cable, weight rooms, basketball courts and conjugal visits amazingly enough have not thrown a paralyzing fear of returning to prison."
Miller begins each chapter with "I don't want to get off on a rant here but," before ending each chapter with "Of course that's just my opinion; I could be wrong."
This book is very entertaining and provides swift, easy reading.
