In its brief four years of existence, The Pyramid has quickly become a popular site for diverse events such as concerts, professional sporting events and filming for movies and television.
In addition to being the home of the Long Beach State men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams, The Pyramid is also the home of the Long Beach Stingrays of the American Basketball League.
The Pyramid was used for the filming of the movie "Starship Troopers," according to Mark Edrington, general manager of The Pyramid. Edrington also said that the filming of "Super Dave, Be The Man," which stars stunt man/comedian Super Dave, has recently been completed.
The television show "Push," which was aired on ABC this fall before being canceled, used The Pyramid to do some of its filming, according to Edrington. He also said that a numerous amount of commercials and concerts have been held at The Pyramid.
The Pyramid will host the Fila Summer Pro League beginning July 11. In its 29-year history, the Fila Summer Pro League has served as a launching pad for many great NBA careers.
