Now Cal State Long Beach students can take courses via the World Wide Web. All that's needed is a computer, a modem and internet capability.
CSULB's University College and Extension Services is offering selected courses through a program called Integrated Distance Education for Adult Students. These courses are offered to those trying to complete a bachelor's degree or master's degree.
"These courses are designed to adapt to the students' busy schedules and they don't require any on-campus time," said Denis J. Arsenault, distance learning technician.
The courses that are being offered right now are through Special Session; that means they don't require admission to CSULB.
"Most of the time we find that the people who take these courses are adult students who already have employment and are either trying to complete their degree or get a master's degree and are not necessarily CSULB students," Arsenault said.
"Not only do you get the best of the faculty, but you also get the best instructors out there in the field," said Arsenault.
The Center is developing more online courses for semesters to come to
make school more convenient for students, according to Arsenault.
