-
- I want to send all the graduating seniors my warmest congratulations.
We are so proud of you and your wonderful academic accomplishments at Cal
State Long Beach.
-
- I hope you will remember your alma mater and will come back often to
attend events or just to visit with members of your university family.
-
- I would also like to take this opportunity to personally thank our
current student government officers - Davian, Jennifer and Naomi - and
all the Associated Student Inc. senators who are also graduating this month
and moving on to new exciting assignments in their professional careers.
-
- Because of their generous gifts of time and effort, student government
had a very good year. Much of A.S.I.'s success this past academic year
is also a tribute to the extraordinary team-building skills and responsiveness
of outgoing A.S.I. president Naomi Rodriguez.
-
- Through thoughtful deliberations and a deep and passionate energy to
serve students, Naomi successfully provided the leadership for the adoption
of many important and exciting initiatives that will have far-reaching
benefits for CSULB students.
-
- In looking at other campus programs that also enjoyed an exceptional
year, I wish to send a special commendation to the Daily Forty-Niner.
- ...students tell me they feel this has been one of the best years
- ever for out institution
- The accomplished writers and editors of this outstanding student newspaper
received wonderful honors from faculty and media organizations.
-
- This fine reporting team did an excellent job of keeping the university
community well informed about student issues and current topics of debate
around the state.
-
- Congratulations to our committed and enthusiastic faculty and staff
for another stellar year as they worked hard toward the common mission
of serving our students.
-
- Frequent community visitors and students tell me they feel that this
has been one of the best years ever for our institution.
-
- To the wonderful staff and faculty members who are retiring at the
end of this academic year, thank you for a job well done!
-
- Your years of dedicated service and expertise have contributed tremendously
to the personal and professional growth of our students.
-
- In closing, I wish to send a special good-bye to my dear friend, Dr.
Gary Adams, who for 15 years has run the 49er Shops at CSULB with ease,
efficiency and compassion.
-
- The responsible service and the customer-oriented bookstore and dining
facilities are testaments to Gary's talent and his great capacity to nurture
the hundreds of working relationships he has enjoyed with the faculty,
staff and students over the years.
-
- We will miss him, and we wish him well.
-
- To the continuing 49er students, I hope you have a good summer and
I look forward to seeing you next fall.
-
- GO BEACH!
