On-line Forty-Niner

Staff reports

In Wednesday's issue of the Daily Forty-Niner, an e-mail letter was printed thought to be received from Associated Students Inc. Sen. Robert Garcia.

The letter stated Garcia wanted to tell his side of the story regarding the current difficulties between A.S.I. and the Long Beach Union newspaper.

The e-mail account from which the letter was sent was rgarcia@csulb.edu.

The DFN received a phone call from Garcia Wednesday morning stating he had not written the letter. Garcia suggested the hoax was done in retaliation for the new editor in chief appointment at the Long Beach Union.

D.F.N. editor in chief Linda Prendez spoke with Union editor in chief Aislin Ard regarding the incident.

Art stated: "I know for a fact that no one here did it."

According to Rosemary Taylor Schmidt of the office of Student Life and Development, Academic Computing Services is investigating whether Garcia's e-mail account has been tampered with.

Garcia said he plans to tell his "real" side of the story in Monday's issue of the Daily Forty-Niner.

The staff of the Daily Forty-Niner apologizes for any inconvenience that was caused Sen. Garcia.
