During a recent interview at the Hotel Nikko in Beverly Hills, Calif., former Oscar winner Mira Sorvino, and "Friends" star Lisa Kudrow share their thoughts on the new Touchstone Pictures film titled "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion."

This movie, scheduled for release Friday, features Kudrow (Michele) and Sorvino (Romy) as two ditzy high school friends who decide to attend their 10-year high school reunion.

"My only goal in high school was to ... make myself the best specimen for marriage ..."

- Lisa Kudrow

"What I liked about Michele is that she's so dumb that everything's OK for her," Kudrow said, explaining her warm feelings for her character.

Kudrow adds her personal high school experience, "My only goal in high school was to get to college and make myself the best specimen for marriage material that I could find. I just, honest to God, didn't care about anyone else or what they thought of me."

In 1985, Kudrow graduated from Vassar College with a degree in biology.

Sorvino says smiling, "Romy thinks she is so in control yet she's really not."

Ironically, the Harvard University graduate has played two major roles as dumb women. Sorvino won the 1995 best supporting actress Oscar for her portrayal of Linda Ash, a prostitute and part-time porn actress, in Woody Allen's "Mighty Aphrodite."

After winning the Academy Award, Sorvino said that her agency wanted her to take on more sophisticated roles.

However, Sorvino said that she was ecstatic about working with Kudrow.

"This is an amazing chance for us to dominate a traditionally very male genre...It's really hard to do a comedy film (well)," Sorvino said.
