Dr. Robert Roth, chair of the department of teacher education, died of skin cancer on Sunday, Feb. 23, at his home in Orange. He was 54.
Department secretary Gwen Carlson, who worked with Roth for two years, didn't know where to begin listing his accomplishments.
"He did so many things," Carlson said. "His resumé was 53 pages long. He was extremely dedicated to teaching. We all loved him and will miss him tremendously."
Roth is survived by his father, August Roth, 94; sons Todd, 22 and Rob, 24; and daughter Tracy, 19.
A memorial service will be held in the Japanese Garden on today at noon. His funeral was held in Cleveland, on March 1.
