Women's team adds players

Long Beach State women's volleyball head coach Brian Gimmillaro announced that he has added three players for next year's team.
 

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

April Varner and Kelsey Young signed letters of intent with the 49ers. Varner is a 5-foot-11 outside hitter from Skyline High School in Salt Lake City. Young is from Hillcrest High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and is a 6-foot-1 outside hitter.

The third new member of LBSU is outside hitter Ashanti Taylor who is transferring from the University of Arkansas. In her final year at Arkansas, the 6-foot Taylor was named to the second team All-Southeastern Conference averaging 2.21 kills and 2.40 digs a game. Taylor graduated from Central High School in Phoenix.
