In less than a day after beating defending Big West Champion New Mexico State on national television, the Long Beach State men's basketball team lost senior point guard Charles O'Neal for his own "personal reasons."

O'Neal had played in all LBSU games as of Friday and started in seven of them including Thursday's game against the Aggies.

O'Neal came to LBSU after transferring from Florida Community College-Jacksonville.

In a statement released Friday, LBSU Head Coach Wayne Morgan said, "While we are extremely disappointed that Charles has chosen to leave our family, we wish him the best with all of his future endeavors."

Most players after Saturday's game said that it was sad to see O'Neal leave but they all had to move on.

"We are all real sad," said guard Ron Johnson. "We have to move on and we wish him the best.
