Rain in The Pyramid again
It was with great interest that I read about
the "rain" in The Pyramid in the Feb. 8 issue of the Daily Forty-Niner
My wife and I had attended the women's
basketball game in The Pyramid last Friday, and although The Pyramid was
nearly empty, it was very humid and warm. I could neither hear nor feel
any of the four air-conditioner units running during the game.
This is not the first time I have attended
games or functions in The Pyramid, and only once do I recall feeling cool.
Is it perhaps because the campus is trying to save money by not running
the systems at full capacity, or maybe not running them at all?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Reader upset by Rocker stories
I found it quite interesting that there were
two stories about John Rocker in the Feb. 1 issue of the Forty-Niner.
Since the staff decided to step outside of our school's news and into the
realm of sports, I can't understand why the staff chose to write
about Rocker and ignore the murder charges leveled against Ray Lewis of
the Baltimore Ravens.
Do racist comments rank above killings?
Has crime in professional sports become so
commonplace that the staff chooses to
ignore it? Or has the Daily Forty-Niner merely given into all the
media hype around John Rocker?
