Spring Steps

A photo titled "Spring Steps" by second-semester staffer and Chief Photographer Jason Steinberg depicts a student walking across Lower Campus on a beautiful day in early April. Steinberg, a transfer student from Cal State Dominguez Hills and a South Dakota native, will continue his photojournalism studies at Cal State Long Beach and hopes one day to  work for National Geographic.



Gotcha

A piece of sports art titled "Gotcha" from second-semester staffer Cristian Vera Aleman shows LBSU women's water polo team member freshman goalie Candice Chick  leaping for a save in practice this past season. Vera Aleman, an  international student from Venezuela, plans to complete his studies in photojournalism at CSULB before returning to his homeland to work on his family-owned newspaper.



Gotcha

A photo titled "Jump" by first-semester staffer Caroline Limuti captures cheerleading hopeful Noelle Afualo as she performs jumping splits at her tryout for the Cal State Long Beach cheer team in April. Limuti, a self proclaimed "transplant from Minnesota," will continue her studies in photojournalism at CSULB.



Gotcha

A  photo titled "Hat dancers" by  first-semester  staffer Kris Gainey shows members of the Vietnamese Student Association performing a series of routines involving the fluid motion of hats and scarves in celebration of the Chinese New Year in early February. Gainey, a local guy from Lakewood, plans to transfer to San Jose State University at the end of this semester to continue his photojournalism studies.
