Sunken city holds key to mankind's survival

It's hard to believe that we will be enjoying the summer so soon.

So what can I write about for my last column of the semester? I could talk about where to go for fun in summer, but that's been done too often already.

I could complain about something, but I don't want people to think that I am a bitter person who only sees the bad of the world.

Perhaps I'll talk about something that has been on my mind for a very long time: the fate of human kind.

I am no expert, but I will use a combination of experiences, books, and dreams that I have had for a mystical, profound and spiritual look at our world.

Human civilization has been around for a long time, but unfortunately most of its history has not been documented.

Atlantis is as far back as we can look in history. Thousands of years ago there was a civilization that was highly spiritual and highly advanced.

The Atlanteans were not one race of people. They were in fact made up of many different cultures similar to our own society.

The Atlanteans lived in peace and harmony with their environment. They understood that this was their planet and they had to do everything in their power to preserve the balance of nature.

They manufactured goods, had laws, and they enjoyed life differently than our culture.

Atlanteans were believed to have had forms of transportation more advanced than our own. Their vehicles were powered by crystals and controlled by their minds. With their vehicles they were able to get from one destination to another quickly.

The total population was in the thousands compared to the current world population,=  which is approximately 6 billion.

Sadly, the Atlanteans started deteriorating little by little. Somehow they forgot how to meditate, use crystals, and be benevolent people.

They became a war-minded people, attacking and conquering smaller and weaker civilizations. They realized that their powers could be used for other purposes instead of helping people.

A similar thing is happening with our civilization right now. But it can be changed. We can learn from the past mistakes of the Atlanteans.

What can we do now? Learn about the past. Read about ancient civilizations such as the Greeks, Egyptians, Hebrews, Incas, Mayas, and Atlanteans. They are all related and connected to our culture.
