Old style cinema for those looking for something new

So you have been everywhere there is to go in the greater  Long Beach and Orange County area.

Now what? Where does a bored Cal State Long Beach student go when he wants to see something different and pay little money to do so?

There are plenty of places to go in the greater Los Angeles area that offer lots of bang for little money.

Some of those places happen to include the finest and oldest movie theaters on the West Coast.

If you feel like watching a film on the big screen in a theater that was part of Hollywood's golden days and has been restored to its glorious past then there is no better place than the American Cinematheque.

The Cinematheque is located in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Egyptian Theater.

The exterior of the theater is very impressive with large walls lined with large Egyptian statues that give a sense of being in ancient Egypt.

The interior is also quite impressive. It is large and has luxury seating. The screen is also quite large.

The Cinematheque has special screenings that usually deal with a certain type of film. For instance in the past they have had recent foreign films, noir films and so on.

Another cool place to go if you are in the mood to watch art house films is the Nuart theater. The Nuart is old but has  genuine art house feel and many people considered it to be L.A.'s premiere art theater.

The Nuart is located at 11272 Santa Monica Blvd., in West L.A.

So if you can't find anything new in Long Beach, take a trip up to Los Angeles. It should provide enough sites for even your tired, bored eyes.
