CPAC hosts toon festival

Animation will be the word of the day in
the Carpenter Performing Arts Center next weekend, with 11 full-length
animated movies scheduled to be shown at the first annual Japanese animation
festival.
The festival will run Friday and Saturday,
and full festival passes are $ 30 for the general public and $ 25 for students
and faculty. Single day passes on Friday are $ 15 for the public, $ 10
for students. On Saturday, passes are $ 25 for the public and $ 20 for
students. Tickets for individual screenings are also available at $ 7
and $ 5.
The festival will start on Friday, April
21, at 7 p.m.
Three movies will be shown on Friday, including
"Alexander the great" and "Wicked City."
The festival will recommence on Saturday,
April 22, at 10 a.m., and run the entire day until 2 a.m., with eight movies
including "The Castle of Cagliaro," "Grave of the fireflies," and "Petshop
of horrors."
Some movies contain heavy violence and
nudity, so caution is advised for the faint of heart.
