So long, thanks

There were times in the newsroom when computers broke, the fax was down and e-mail was not coming through.

Still, there were other times when both printers would not print, the scanner was malfunctioning and reporters had all but vanished from the planet. There were times when we were on deadline and the disks-which reporters promised up and down their copy was on-were completely blank.

There were times when we were in the newsroom past midnight and before 8 a.m. Lunch time was spent working on the day's paper and not lunch. We were here Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Saturdays we told ourselves we were going to catch up on sleep, but we never did.

We had the most fun this semester. We have never been so proud. We put out an eight-page paper four times a week - flawed, unflawed and full of hard work.

Thanks to all of our readers and a special thanks to Ivan Goldman, adviser to the paper, who every morning was at the editors' meeting in a dedicated effort to make us better journalists.
