It is the end of the semester, and finals week is a "jagged little pill."
In order to receive the medicine of winter break, students and professors need to swallow the pain of finals.
But as we eagerly await the much needed cure, the semester has brought some students newfound knowledge.
"I learned time management between work, fun and school," said freshman David Cedeno. "The good thing about college is that you don't have [as much] homework [as high school]. You can go at your own pace."
Senior Isaak Egge, who will graduate in May, said he has learned that school is a nice shelter from the real world.
"You don't have to deal with the competition of [the business world]," he said. "[Before college], I used to think that everything came easy ... I'm a lot smarter and wiser [now]."
"The thing with school is [that you] learn a lot of theory and little practicality," said David Felton, a senior English major. "I use people as a mirror. Through people I found who I am."
Ironically, many student's education does not come through the classroom.
Many students such as Felton have learned how to interact with people through socializing, but some are still misunderstood.
"What it all comes down to is that everything is fine, fine, fine," says the Alanis Morissette song.
For me with one hand in my pocket, I've learned never to begin an article with "it" because "it" does not modify anything.
Go figure.
