Although the highest grossing movie over the pre-Thanksgiving weekend did not feature stars such as Demi, Arnold or Denzel, "The Rugrats Movie" does pack quite a punch with the little people.
The movie made $28 million at the box office in its opening weekend and is sure to keep climbing over the holiday season.
The movie is great family fun. This fully animated feature film has something for everyone. Keeping in true Rugrats' form, there is a proliferation of potty humor to generate cheap laughs.
Every subject from nose picking to dirty diapers is addressed, but the funny thing is, you will catch yourself giggling right along with it all.
Chuckie, Tommy, Phil and Lil, Angelica and the newest Rugrat, baby Dilan (Dil) Pickles, are the stars of the movie.
Their antics and distinctive high-pitched voices keep children glued to the screen.
However, the movie also offers some great lessons for youngsters.
Tommy, the main character, is the not-so-proud recipient of a new baby brother, Dilan.
Tommy learns that new siblings are not as fun and easy as he had anticipated.
Then, after a failure on Grandpa's part to keep an eye on the children, the Rugrats find themselves
lost in the forest and have to find their way home.
During their adventure, little Tommy discovers the true meaning of responsibility and that being a big brother is actually pretty neat.
Although, "The Rugrats Movie" is probably not the best date
movie for the holidays, it is truly entertaining. If you have any nieces
or nephews under the age of 13, they probably know who the Rugrats are and
would love to see this film. You could score some big brownie points.
