49ers lose in tournament

The Long Beach State men's water polo team lost its last game of the season to Cal 9-7 on Saturday, which eliminated the team from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament in Corona Del Mar.

On Saturday, junior Shane Lindstrom led The Beach (10-16) with two goals. Senior goalie Adam Carter had three saves for The Beach. However, the eight-seeded 49ers were unable to fend off the offense of the Bears (12-11).

In Friday's first-round match-ups, top-seeded USC beat the 49ers 6-5. The Beach scored the first two goals of the game.
