Reasons for grad school

Graduating seniors have more to think about than just graduating.

They have to think about graduate school.

Yes or no is the answer to "Are you going to go?" There are only two choices, the answer should be easy. However, students seem to overly ponder the issue, wavering back and forth.

It will pay off in the long run, but another two years in school in addition to a compounded student debt sounds as fun as running four marathons in a row and then organizing the IRS' files.

Students start to justify reasons for not going: too much money, too much work and not enough time.

If making tons of money is not the issue, now is the time to enter into the workforce and start plugging away, 9 to 5 in the same desk for the rest of eternity.

However if a student does want to see him or herself in a Beamer or Lexus versus a Saturn or Geo, aside from winning the lottery, graduate school may start looking like chocolate cake.

According to U.S. News & World Report, a master's degree is worth $248,000 more than a bachelor's degree over a lifetime.

Sounds like winning the lottery right there.

And what is a better excuse for putting off that 9 to 5 job?
