I love life but most of all, I love being in love. There's no better time to find that perfect romance than during the summer.
Yes, I mean having a summer fling.
Hilliary Martino
Everyone has had a summertime fling at one time or another. Flings are fun, mysterious, erotic and usually include lots of sensual pleasures.
Most of the time when, one involves him or herself in a summer fling, one thinks there is no commitment involved, which leads to no emotional attachment, right?
Wrong! Summer flings are nothing more than a foundation for an emotional heartbreak hotel.
Let me explain. Summer flings are like an indecent proposal.
For example, say some rich billionaire offers tons of money in exchange for a couple of nights full of fun, romance and hot passionate sex.
When the money runs out, they are gone faster than a speeding bullet. Sounds pretty fun,?
Hello! Is anyone home. Wake up to reality.
Summer flings are merely a quick fix for a big ego to have its cake and eat it too.
It seems as though when the summer is over, the big ego refuses the idea of a COMMITMENT, and lacks the ability to get emotionally attached. Figures.
All the while, the person who was dropped like a bad habit is left to sit around with friends to whine and agonize about why the jerk left without saying good-bye.
And is left forever thinking, "I thought for sure the relationship would end with a commitment." Sounds familiar?
Every summer a person thinks it's going to be different. They are going to have a meaningful summer fling that will stand the test of time. Oh, how sweet
Get real people.
How many times have you heard a friends conversation about their summer flings? I bet you can remember how pissed off they were because they couldn't believe their so-called dream lover left them high and dry in the passenger seat of love.
Yet, no matter how much people b---- and complain about their summer fling, they find themselves coming back for more.
In case you are wondering, I have had my share of summer flings too.
This past summer was no different. Do I hate him for running out on me?
You are d--- right I do.
Will I be back for more?
You are d--- right I will.
