Everyone does it, so it must be okay. At least that's the fallacious logic being exercised in an editorial last Monday condoning the president's perjury charges.

Maybe, I'm just not open-minded, or I should strive toward that kind of staggering intellectualism. Yes - I have been looking at this wrong-side up rather than right-side up.

For whatever reason, I might get arrested, I will declare, point of order my good fellow, everyone does what I do. I'm free to go. You, officer, are misguided. Laws only make the muster when the crime occurs infrequently. Then, I will tear the ticket up in his face and drive home, disobeying all vehicular rules and regulations.

Then, maybe I'll steal some jewelry and on the way out steal a car . Hey, everyone does it.
