Cher back on top

Just when it seems that Cher is down for the count, she is right back on top again.

Some say she is like a fine wine that gets better with age. Her new album, "Believe," has put this talented artist back in the spotlight.

MOVIE REVIEW

She has created a dance oriented album that will appeal to old and new fans. This is Cher for the 90s.

The album is different from her last album "It's a Man's World," which has more of a rock flavor to it. The new project is an unabashed commercial album with an energetic sound.

The album contains a hybrid of songs combining club music of the 90s with the retro-disco sound of the 70s. The artist's ability to continue reinventing herself by reaching into new musical territory with her usual give it everything attitude is admirable.

"Believe" is a catchy song with an uplifting sound carried along by an infectious up-tempo beat.

"Taxi Taxi" is a good urban pop culture song with a catchy melody.

Cher's 1988 hit "We all Sleep Alone" mysteriously appears on the album. The artist could have found another song that would have been better in her attempt to complete the album.

Some of the writing is less than exciting, but for Cher fans the album is a worthy purchase.
