Bare JR's new full-length album, "Boo-Tay," takes empty lyrics set to noisy beats and makes self-loathing songs, which lack meaning and creativity.
The 14-track album is primarily comprised of redundant beats, monotone vocals and songs lacking theme. The songs go from slow-paced melodies to heavy guitar and bass sounds.
"You Blew Me Off" begins with a catchy groove that ultimately becomes noisy drumbeats mixed with pointless yelling.
"When I said I love you, you blew me off. It turned me on."
The album's style falls short of any music genre, mixing everything from country to heavy-rock alternative. The song "Soggy Daisy" is entirely spoken in a dull, monotone voice.
The album's worst flaw is the lyrics. Bad poetry combined with a limited vocabulary can be heard in the song "I Wanna Live."
"She landed on a car and her head was split. She had broke her back and her lower lip."
The lyrics on "I Hate Myself" are childish and immature.
"I hate myself and it's all your fault. I hate myself and I outta not. I hate myself, it's sad but true. Cause I hate myself when I should be hating you."
Listening to the entire Bare JR album is a long unpleasant experience.
The music is noisy, the vocals dull and the lyrics senseless. This is one
album best left on the shelf.
