The Long Beach State men's club soccer team has ended its season by adding three more losses to its record.

The team was defeated by UC San Diego 2-1, Utah State University 2-0 and University of Pacific 2-1 during the National Collegiate Soccer Association's West Regional Tournament last weekend in Las Vegas.

Although the 49ers were able to win two games against UC Riverside in order to advance to the West Regionals, they were unable to enjoy the same success during the tournament.

Seeded six out of eight teams, Long Beach State experienced its first blow when it played UCSD on Thursday.

Long Beach State halfback Dan Kolano scored the only goal of the game for the team after he took a shot off a pass from forward John Blackstock.

The Beach hoped to come back from Thursday's loss and clinch wins on Friday as they played a double-header against Utah State and Pacific. Instead, the team came up empty-handed.

Utah State was the first to defeat Long Beach State on the second day of the tournament due to a powerful offensive line that scored two goals.

With two losses and worn hopes, the 49ers took to the field again and struggled against Pacific in order to stay alive in the tournament, but unfortunately lost the fight.

Long Beach State forward Brian McMahon scored the only goal after he fired a shot into the net off a pass from Kolano.
