Halloween is one of my favorite celebrations and this past weekend was no exception.
This dark night is the one occasion I can wear women's panties comfortably. I am not saying women's panties are not comfortable on any other night. It's just more acceptable among my peers for me to go out dressed in drag during Halloween.
Last Friday evening, I traveled to the LK Warehouse on Anaheim Street for an enchanted evening with Disco Stranger and Jesus Wore Dickies.
Disco Stranger got the party jumping as the band burst into what would turn out to be an incredible set.
The members of Disco Stranger always deliver a full sound and solid performance. The temperature was rising with everyone's thrashing bodies.
The population and interest inside the sweltering warehouse seemed to dissipate until Jesus Wore Dickies kicked some beats and the masses returned. The JWD DJ reclaimed everyone's attention with his flowing raps and rhymes and every head in the joint was bobbing.
The DJ and lead vocalist traded lyrics back and forth while the band created crazy electronic samples with deep and powerful bass lines. The party was in full swing and the atmosphere was being controlled and manipulated by the sounds of Jesus Wore Dickies when, unfortunately, I was forced to leave by my sober chauffeur. Next time I will walk.
