The Offspring's forthcoming album "Americana" is due on Nov. 17. Fans will not be disappointed. The music stays true to the band's classic punk style.

In case one has been in a cave for the past few years, The Offspring is a local Orange County band that has revived the local alternative music scene with albums such as "Smash."

The new album stays true to form with songs like "The Kids Aren't Alright," a pulsating punk tune that will get the blood flowing.

Then there is the cut "Pretty Fly ( for a white guy)," a knock-off of "Come out and play." It is interesting how the band incorporated many different instruments and samples. The song has the rhythm of the Beastie Boys and the experimentation of Beck.

The Offspring's new album will not be a disappointment to the band's hard core fans. This combination of guitar-driven tunes are extremely energetic and will keep one listening.
