Daily Forty-Niner adds new member

Tuesday, October 13, 1998

Former Daily Forty-Niner and University Magazine advertising sales account executive Stacey Nail is the new advertising director of Forty-Niner Publications at Cal State Long Beach.

Nail was an advertising representative for the Daily Forty-Niner and University Magazine from 1993 to 1995. Prior to that she served for one year as an office assistant in the business and advertising office of the student newspaper and magazine.

Nail will oversee the professional advertising operations of the Daily Forty-Niner, the Summer Forty-Niner, University Magazine, the On-line Forty-Niner and University Magazine Online, Publisher William A. Mulligan said.

Since she left CSULB in November 1996, Nail was assistant director of marketing for Maui Arts Cultural Center in Hawaii. She was responsible for the development of publicity campaigns and promotional advertising budgets for the center.

Nail is a CSULB graduate with a bachelor of arts degree in nutrition.

Long-time Forty-Niner staff member Jamie Eggleston, who has been serving as both advertising manager and production manger of Forty-Niner Publications, will continue as production manager, Mulligan said. Eggleston was asked to serve in both positions at the beginning of the recession in California.

The two positions were combined temporarily while the newspaper reorganized itself when the university's enrollment dropped from more than 35,000 students to 27,000 students in the early 1990s, he said.
