Long Beach Police Department arrested a man who they believe is responsible for breaking into the homes of seven Long Beach women, in incidences that occurred between May 1997 and July1998, according to Fox 11 news on Thursday.
The suspect Jeffery Grant, an employee of Long Beach's parks, recreation and marine department, was arrested on Wednesday at his job and is being held by LBPD on a $1 million bond, news reports said.
One of the victims, a Cal State Long Beach student who wishes to remain unidentified, told the Daily Forty-Niner in a Sept. 3 issue, she was raped when the perpetrator broke into her home on the night of July 30, after she left a window unlocked and went to the store.
The victim, who identified her assailant from a composite-sketched drawing, could not be reached for comment on the recent arrest.
Three of the seven victims, including the CSULB student, were sexually assaulted, which includes sexual battery.
Police did not give any information as to whether the other two sexual assault victims had been raped.
