Cal State University Long Beach University Police are looking for a man they believe is responsible for punching two students and threatening another with a knife in an incident on Sept. 18.
The first victim received three head contusions while the second suffered a bloodshot eye and a swollen cheek. Both victims refused treatment from paramedics, said Lt. Judith King.
The threatened victim escaped without injury by running off when the assailant pulled out a knife and demanded his wallet, King said.
The victims told officers the assailant had been at a party in the dorms and after leaving the party at 1:25 a.m., he went to a dorm room and hit a resident with his fist, punching the victim in the head four times.
At 2:50 a.m., the assailant confronted the second victim in front of the Los Alamitos dorms on Earl Warren Drive and hit the victim in the face.
Police believe the suspect is not a student. He is described in the police report as a 170-pound, 6-foot, 3-inch white male with black hair and brown eyes.
"From January of this year until now, there have been 11 battery charges filed," King said. "Of those, 10 have been cleared by arrest."
