Happy trails to college life

Well, the point that no college student thinks he or she will ever reach in the near future has finally come for this reporter.

That's right folks, graduation is on the horizon for many people (including myself) who are probably wearing a look of both disbelief and relief that there will be no more debt accrued until after they are employed.

But instead of the usual tear-jerking type of column that one would expect to see, I offer something different, an alternate look into the world that some of us will be leaving behind after exams end next Friday:

No more having to look for that ever elusive parking spot close to the buildings that doesnŐt exist because of students who have classes at the ungodly hour of 7 a.m.

No more having to take classes at the afforementioned ungodly hour.

No more weeks of having to live off of No-Doz while cramming for the 7 million finals that are all on the same day.

No more paying $75 for a book only to find out at the end of the semester that a new edition has been ordered.

No more standing in line for an hour for an overpriced hamburger only to get your money'sss worth in indigestion.

No more standing in line to get a question answered by a person who knows they won't have to deal with you anymore (You know who you are!)

However, there must also be some tradition involved.

And with that, I will definitely miss the security blanket atmosphere of the college campus, where most people are students and the sports are free to watch.

Makes me want to take up being a student as a career (or not, there are enough people like that already).

So until the next life, "Happy Trails to You, Until we meet again..." (Thanks, Roy Rogers!).
