Some information was obtained in the Official Sample Ballot and the California Ballot Pamphlet.
- Proposition 204 -- This act would improve water quality. Vote yes.
- Propopsition 205 -- This act would provide money for building and remodeling correctional facilities. Vote yes.
- Proposition 206 -- This act would provide money to California veterans for farm and home subsidies. No opinion.
- Proposition 207 -- This initiative would keep frivolous lawsuits out of court and prohibit attorneys from charging excessive rates to their clients. Vote yes.
- Proposition 208 -- This initiative limits campaign contributions to politicians. It would no longer allow contributions by lobbyists. Vote yes.
- Proposition 209 -- This initiative would prohibit preferential treatement in hiring and school acceptance through race, gender or nationality and eliminate all affirmative action programs on the state level. Vote no.
- Proposition 210 -- This initiative would increase the minimum wage to $5.00 on March 1, 1997 and then raise California's minimum wage to $5.75 on March 1, 1998. Vote yes.
- Proposition 211 -- This initiative would allow attorneys and their clients to make fee arrangements and attorneys could prosecute for securities fraud much easier. Vote yes.
- Proposition 212 -- This initiative would reduce the amount of campaign contributions to politicians and lobbyists could not give gifts or claim tax deductions for contributions. Vote yes.
- Proposition 213 -- This initiative would stop convicted felons, drunk drivers and some uninsured motorists from recovering damages. Vote yes.
- Proposition 214 -- This initiative would no longer prohibit physicians from giving advice or providing information. No opinion.
- Proposition 215 -- This initiative would allow marijuana for medicinal use with doctors prescription. Vote yes.
- Proposition 216 -- This initiative would no longer pressure physicians into not providing patients with information or denying treatment. No opinion
- Proposition 217 -- This initiative would reestablish tax brackets for higher income wage earners. No opinion.
- Proposition 218 -- This initiative would require a majority vote by voters before local governments could impose a tax. Vote yes.
