Forty-Niner basketball fans who were worried that young star Schea Cotton might turn pro or go to another college can rest easy now. James Cotton, the Conference’s leading scorer and older brother of Schea, said spectators can expect to see the two hooking up in The Pyramid as soon as next season.

"He’s coming here for sure," James Cotton said, before his afternoon workout Tuesday.

"I can see The Pyramid just blowing up," he said. "Both of us on the wings, Tommie (Davis) at point guard and the other guys we have already. I think it will be an asset to the team for us to play together."

Schea Cotton was spotted with his brother on campus Tuesday. NCAA rules prohibit the Daily Forty-Niner from speaking with or taking any photos of Schea, who is still in high school.

The younger Cotton, at six feet, five inches and 210 pounds, is currently ranked the No. 3 prospect among all seniors in the nation. As a sophomore at Santa Ana Mater Dei, he led his team to the California State Division I title. Afterwards, Schea transferred to St. John Bosco. He is currently preparing for his senior season.

Schea Cotton has already been featured in Sports Illustrated as well as many national basketball publications. The Sports Illustrated article came out after his freshman season. Basketball insiders label Schea a "physical presence" highlighted with an astonishing 42-inch vertical leap.

Currently, Schea Cotton has given CSULB an oral commitment. A written agreement would land CSULB one of its best recruits ever.
