Preliminary Cal State Long Beach enrollment figures for fall 1995 show another decrease from last year's figures, according to the office of enrollment services.
There has been a decrease in enrollment in each of the last five years. Fall 1995 figures have the smallest decrease in registered students from the year before than the last five years comparatively.
With 24,415 students registered as of the first day of classes, the decrease from last year's figures reported at the same time is only 74 students.
The difference in enrollment on the opening day of 1992 was 2,188 less than opening day of 1991.
The difference between opening day figures of 1992 and 1993 was 3,199.
Director of Institutional Research Don Coan said these opening day figures are "very premature," and until the final census is made in one month any speculation of a decrease or increase in enrollment is impossible.
Especially with such a small difference in the preliminary figures, it is possible for there to be either an increase or decrease in this fall's enrollment.
