  • Administration threatens suspension
    After many students running for positions in Associated Students Inc. had their campaign signs stolen or destroyed, the administration took a stronger stance against destruction of student election campaign materials.


  • High school students take to the street
    “This is our land too,” “Immigrants are not terrorists,” and “Revolución es la solución [revolution is the solution]” were just a few of the signs, along with chants, cheers and songs, heard from more than a thousand Long Beach high school students who protested all over the city Monday in opposition to the controversial H.R. 4437 Immigration bill currently debated in the U.S. Senate.

  • Our View: Immigration reforms in right direction
    The dicey, and often emotional, debate of illegal immigration re-emerged from its proverbial slumber this past Saturday, drawing nearly 500,000 protesters to the streets of downtown Los Angeles denouncing the proposed legislation currently in the Senate Judiciary Committee that threatens the presence of illegal aliens in America.


  • Polygamous HBO programming, a do or don’t
    I’m not sure if you have heard, but there is this new show that had its debut recently on HBO called “Big Love.” It’s about a polygamous family living in Salt Lake City.


  • Drop the guitar, head on over to the symphony
    Call me crazy, or just plain call me wrong, but I firmly believe the art of the symphony is the greatest form of art mankind has in its creative imagination. Such blatant and obvious subjectivity will surely defy aficionados of the other art forms, but I am prepared to justify myself and face the music of my claim. So here goes.
