  • Candidate climbs onto ledge to protest
    An Associated Students Inc. presidential candidate protesting U.S. involvement in Sudan, Iraq and Iran brought out university police and a crowd Tuesday, with officials fearing for his safety. Students and faculty, however, seemed to find his efforts entertaining.

  • The Lounge offers more than just a place to unwind
    Cal State Long Beach’s Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center, also known as the Lounge has offered help to students and provide a place to convene on campus for over 10 years.

  • Our View: Smoking ban allows others to breathe
    While leisurely walking outdoors or sitting down to eat a meal outside, many students may have noticed the nuisance of breathing the noxious fumes of a nearby smoker, obliviously puffing away while students are forced to share his or her toxic air.


  • Big West basketball coverage inadequate, disappointing
    Daily Forty-Niner, you have let me down this time. As an avid reader of this school newspaper, I look to it to find interesting articles, what’s happening in the school, and, of course, what is going on in sports.




  • Some radical feminism aspects take wrong turn
    I was very annoyed with a recent article I read on oral sex in a national newspaper. I found it typical of the feminist perspective.
