  • New CoLA dean wants to improve graduate program
    Cal State Long Beach named Gerry Riposa the new dean for the College of Liberal Arts (CoLA) Monday. Riposa, a professor in the political science department, was appointed to replace Dorothy (Dee) Abrahamse, who served CoLA dean since its creation in 1992.


  • ASI promotes Beach Pride poolside
    Cal State Long Beach throws numerous events to rally students’ school spirit, which is not easy because students are not aware of Beach Pride events.



  • Reverand enlightens students about Buddhism
    In celebration of the fifth annual South Asia Day, students and faculty gathered in the Karl Anatol Center for a special presentation by the Rev. Maitipe Wimalasara Monday.



  • Lot 11 structure almost done completion
    The much needed parking structure in Lot 11 is in the final stages of construction, scheduled to be completed by the end of summer, and should be open to students in the upcoming fall semester.

    No, the headline for this story is not a typo, computer glitch or other kind of mistake. In a meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao at the White House last Thursday, President George W. Bush did in fact call for a revival of the basic liberties and freedoms people living in China are currently deprived of.
